One thing before this week's picks.
Sergio Garcia caught some serious heat this week for spitting in a hole after making bogey at Doral. Horrible, horrible breach of not just golf etiquette, but human etiquette. Don't spit where others have to utilize their hands.
What made it worse was the way Garcia defended his actions. He told Jimmy Roberts on Saturday that it wasn't a big deal because he spit in a part of the cup that no one would touch. Well how would he know that? Isn't it possible that someone playing behind him had abnormally large hands? How about some weird superstition that he circles the cup before pulling his ball out? Bad move, Serg, and he handled even worse with his pathetic defense of the situation.
Anyway, on to the picks and keep in mind we are only one week away from seeing a certain someone's name on the list.
G got into the point column last week with "The Spitter," who tied for third. Currie, our points leader, set a new precedent as he picked a guy (Scott Verplank) who wasn't in the field. Apparently, Currie likes Niagra in this weekend's Final Four and has a Nixon/Agnew in '08 bumper sticker.
